A New Regulation of RV in China – GB/T46094 2025

On September 19, 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) released a national regulation “Leisure accommodation vehicles—Safety signs and information symbols”, which will take effect from March 1, 2026.

With the improvement of citizens’ living standards and the transition of their consumption concepts, the travel vehicle (RV) industry in China is growing rapidly. This not only strongly boosts production and sales but also promotes the integrated development of related industries such as tourism, equipment manufacturing, and infrastructure, thus building a new consumer ecology.

To standardize the design, production, and use of recreational vehicles (RVs), the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the National Standards Committee have jointly developed the national standard Leisure accommodation vehicles—Safety signs and information symbols. The standard defines requirements for safety signs and informational symbols on RVs, sets out technical specifications for their shape, color, size, and layout, and addresses key aspects of RV safety, including driving safety, daily living safety, and fire-fighting facility marking.

This standard mandates that recreational vehicles (RVs) be fitted with prominent warning signs in critical areas to assist users in risk avoidance. Specifically, a "No Sleeping While Driving" sign should be installed beside the bed, and a "Do Not Bathe While Driving" sign at the bathroom entrance, both serving to remind users of unsafe behaviors to avoid. These visual prompts enable more individuals to quickly grasp the operational guidelines for RVs, enhance their vehicle safety awareness, and ensure that every "mobile home" journey is safer and more comfortable.

The release and implementation of this standard will contribute to improving the safety and convenience of recreational vehicle (RV) operation and usage. This, in turn, is highly significant for enhancing the quality of RV products and further advancing the high-quality development of the RV industry.
